*** SOLD OUT ***
Michael and his lovable Chums have been on a bit of a hiatus of late, but they’re back, possibly for the last time.
With support from the spellbinding songsmith, Rob Corcoran, Michael Garrett and Chums will bring you a night of captivating folk originals, with a few sneaky pop covers thrown in.
But who are Michael Garrett and Chums!? For the last 3 years, the quartet have been frequenting the staple venues of the London folk scene under the Folkroom label. Michael’s soft but powerful voice carries delicately crafted songs with a distinctly narrative style, with hints of Simon and Garfunkel and inspiration from traditional British folklore. The chums enrich the vibe with a sometimes eerie, ephemeral sound, sometimes driving through to touch on an Americana pulse.
Rob Corcoran, who’s this fellow? Rob has an ear for an alluring melody, which he delivers with charming Irish brogue. His songs are deeply intrenched with traditional roots, feeding a thick trunk of contemporary folk stylings akin to “Villagers”. From the branches hang Brooding lyrics. We’re lucky enough to have his superbly talented fiddle player join us on the night.
We’re gonna have a lot of fun with this gig and we’d love you to come along and be a part of it. There is also going to be a bootleg CD of Michael Garrett and Chums’ unreleased material available… ooh!
