The performers:

Simon Eugene AKA Comfort
Simon is a prolific writer and one of the UK’s great secrets. Steeped in the tradition of the great songwriters of the past-Dylan, Lennon, Syd Barratt and an act with whom there are many parallels, Sugarman, Sixto Rodriqez. He’s played with the likes of Radiohead and David Bowie. His guitarist left to join Oasis, his bass player to Robbie Williams with whom he shared the same management. He’s recorded with the very best around.

“If you’re a bunch of Londoners going for that country-flavoured Neil Young lonesomeness, then you’ll need the conviction, you’ll need a certain selflessness and freedom from posing, and you’ll need the songs. Horatio James have all of this, carrying it off without slipping either into pastiche or into a faux-Laurel Canyon slickness, offering ‘songs of estrangement, heartbreak and malevolence’ floating like dust off a pair of snakeskin boots…” -DANN CHINN, MISFIT CITY

River Child is a solo singer-songwriter who specialises in classy, soulful indie/folk. With an off kilter, rare and distinctive voice pitching in somewhere between Bob Dylan and Alex Turner.
“For someone so anti-mainstream,River Child sure knows how to teach the scene a thing or two by inhabiting its world from the point of radio-ready singles. On the flipside of things, though, he is purely and unabashedly folk to his very core.” – For Folks Sake
